Annual Policy TermPersonal Property insurance is an annual policy that can be renewed upon receiving notice from Clements Worldwide. It is important that you renew your policy annually during your Peace Corp or VSO service.

*Additional Terms and Conditions:
1. For unscheduled coverage, the first USD 100 of any one loss is not covered. 2. A standard war exclusion clause applies. 3. Limitation: Up to USD 2,500 coverage in the aggregate per loss for unscheduled jewelry, watches, objects of art, computer equipment, cameras and photographic equipment, musical instruments, and other similar valuables. Refer to Scheduled Coverage section for proper coverage of these items. 4. No recovery is available for losses caused by wear and tear or gradual deterioration. What should I insure?

We recommend that volunteers insure all of their personal items accompanying them to their post. This includes unscheduled items such as clothing and backpacks, as well as an itemized list for scheduled items such as valuables like cameras and computers.

What type of loss is covered under the Peace Corps and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) Personal Property insurance policy?

Items specified on your application are covered against loss or damage due to “All Risks” perils, such as theft, vandalism and fire. See policy for specific exclusions.

What is the difference between Unscheduled vs. Scheduled coverage?

Our plan will provide both types of coverage: Unscheduled coverage and Scheduled Coverage. Unscheduled coverage is for everyday property. Clothing, bedding, small electronics and equipment should be insured under this section. There is a USD 100 deductible per loss. Scheduled coverage is for valuable items. Jewelry, cameras, musical instruments and computers should be insured under this section. Remember to include a detailed, itemized list for all Scheduled coverage items. There is no deductible.

How much does the policy cost?

Policies start at USD 1,000 of coverage for a premium of USD 60. Additional insurance costs USD 6 per USD 100 of Unscheduled coverage and Scheduled coverage.
