...may be closer than you think. A recent survey reveals U.S. expatriates don't have to travel far to find the friendliest, most welcoming country - just cross the border to Canada.

The survey asked over 2,000 expatriates to rate their successes on making local friends, learning the language, purchasing property, and joining local community groups. Runners-up include Germany and Australia.

If you are a global nomad, it can be difficult to find your soulmate in a new country. It's probably not even a priority when you arrive - you typically have to learn the local language first before you can start speaking the language of love. Guess again. It's Germany! Germany also ranks second to Belgium as the country where the largest number of expatriates have children after relocating there.
