New alternative healthcare option for Volunteers extending their policy beyond October 1, 2007!
This new alternative insurance plan offers Volunteers a new option for more affordable, quality health coverage. CorpsCare Edge is only for Volunteers that are healthy and not currently seeking medical treatment. This program features a lower monthly premium, affordable office visits and coverage for major medical expenses. While less expensive, this plan has coverage limitations and an increased share of medical costs for the Volunteer.
Monthly Premium: Volunteer $95. Spouse $95. Child $95.

Am I eligible for the program?
All Peace Corps and Crisis Corps Volunteers, Trainees and their families are eligible for the program upon close of service (COS).
Is CorpsCare Edge plan right for me?
The CorpsCare Edge is designed as a cost-saving alternative for in-shape and healthy Volunteers. This plan provides coverage for illnesses and accidents that may occur in the future. Volunteers that have a pre-existing condition or those currently seeking medical treatment are encouraged to extend their coverage under the primary CorpsCare plan.
Extension of Coverage
Following your first month of free coverage, you have the option to extend your coverage up to an additional 18 months with the primary CorpsCare plan or you may switch to the CorpsCare Edge plan. It is important for all Volunteers to extend their coverage and enroll their families within 31 days of their COS date. Volunteers that extend their coverage with the CorpsCare Edge plan, may not switch back to the primary plan. This new alternative plan is available for policies effective October 1, 2007 and beyond.
